(c) In all cases, the Employer shall select the best qualified candidate from those applying by considering the following: ability demonstrated, work record, and seniority. Good attendance or poor attendance will be an integral part of work record.
b. Bargaining unit members hired from outside and within the classification shall be granted a one (1) week trial period. In the event the district returns the employee (or the employee elects to return) to his/her former position during the trial period, the vacancy will be re-posted and reference checks the applicants from the initial posting will commence promptly after be contacted to ascertain their continued interest in consideration for the completion of interviews. c. Should a position increase in hours by two (i.e., school, board office2) or more hours per day in a designated area and fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) or if a copy sent to the local Union President.

JOB POSTING AND BIDDING PROCEDURES. SECTION 1. All vacancies and/or newly created positions within the bargaining unit shall be posted within seven (7) calendar days of the date the vacancy occurs. (If the Co-Employers determine that a vacancy arisesdoes not require filling, it will so notify the Employer shall Union.) The Co-Employers will post a notice of a permanent vacancy for a period of at least seven (7) calendar days (day one being the calendar day following the actual posting). Such posting will normally be within fourteen (14) calendar days following determination by the Co-Employers that such permanent vacancy requires prompt filling. Copies of such posting will be mailed to all bargaining unit employees who are on vacation or layoff.
(B) The posted notice shall set forth the minimum requirements for the position, including a copy of the most recent job description for the position. Interested employees shall apply in writing within the seven (7) calendar day posting period.
(1) The Co-Employers will fill the vacancy, from qualified applicants (applicants having the required qualifications as provided in the job description, and reasonably expected to be able to perform the work required within the twenty (20) day period hereafter provided), based upon seniority.
(2) The Co-Employers will notify the Union, and all employees posting for the vacancy, of award of the position.
(3) Employees may at any time post for classifications with higher pay grades.
(4) Employees may post for classifications with equal or lower pay grades at any time with the consent of the Co-Employers but, absent such consent, employees awarded a posting will not be permitted to post for classifications with equal or lower pay grades until they have worked at least twelve (12) calendar months following award of such posting. If no applications are received by the Co-Employers from qualified employees within the bargaining unit, the vacancy may be filled from any other source.
(1) If, at any time during the first twenty (20) days actually worked on the new job after the employee is awarded the job, the employee notifies the Co-Employers that they are unable to perform the work, and the reasons therefor, or the Co-Employers notify the employee that they do not feel they are satisfactory in the new position, and the reasons therefor, the employee shall be returned to their former classification.
(2) Such twenty (20) day period may be extended by mutual agreement of the Co-Employers and the Union.
(3) If the employee returns (or is returned) to their former classification, the Co-Employers may fill the vacancy as provided above, without re-posting the opening, from the applicants for the original posting.
(4) Any permanent vacancy created in the employee’s former classification may be filled by posting, or may be filled for the duration of such twenty (20) day (or extended) period in any manner permitted by this Agreement but, while no employee need be assigned to the position until the Co-Employers determine such assignment is necessary, and while any assignment until made “permanent” by the Co-Employers will be deemed temporary, the Co-Employers will normally post the permanent vacancy created in the employee’s former classification at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the day on which the Co-Employers believe they will fill such vacancy on a permanent basis.
(E) Employees transferring from one job classification to another will receive the rate of pay of the job they are performing, corresponding to that employee’s pay grade prior to transfer.
(1) Part-time employees may post for full-time positions but full-time employees posting for full-time positions will be deemed to have greater seniority than part-time employees posting for full-time positions.
(2) Full-time employees may post for part-time positions and will be deemed to have greater seniority than part-time employees for purposes of such posting.

The time limit for application shall be five (5) days after the posting unless extended by mutual agreement. The following positions have district tests in place and require a job vacancy arises70% minimum passing score: Secretarial, Head Custodian, Library, Computer Lab, and Maintenance. Each of the District Tests are allowed to be taken only two (2) times during the employee’s school career with a minimum of six (6) months between the 1st and 2nd times. Mechanics must have the necessary certifications at time of hire. Complex Head Custodian is required to pass (70%) the District Maintenance Test. Vacancy postings will list the classification, qualifications, building location, general description of their work, the regular schedule of hours and anticipated beginning date. Vacancies will be filled in the following sequential order:
(1) The Employer shall post a notice of vacancy for a period of at least select within five (5) working days. A copy of each such notice shall be submitted to the Local President. A vacancy is an existing or new position that the Employer has authorized to be filled, whether created as a result of the resignation, retirement, termination, transfer between classifications, death of an employee, or the need for additional services. If a vacancy is posted during the summer, the notice will be posted for at least ten (10) calendar days and a copy will be sent to the Local Union President. The notice of vacancy shall contain a job title, work schedule, required qualifications for the position, building or program location, pay range, and deadline for submitting a bid. In the case of a teacher, the notice of vacancy will also specify the required certification. Employees who wish to be considered for the posted position must submit a bid in writing to the office of the person designated on the posting by the deadline for submitting a bid. Posted positions shall be filled within fifty (50) calendar days from the close of the posting of the notice, if an applicant satisfactory to the Employer is found. Positions shall be awarded within ten (10) days after the last applicant interview. Xxxxxxxxxx of interviews will commence promptly after the close of the posting time limit for application the best qualified candidate from those applying from the classification in which the vacancy exists by considering the following: Seniority within the classification of the vacancy, work record, and ability demonstrated within the classification of the vacancy. Good attendance or poor attendance will be an integral part of work record.
(2) Vacancies within a classification without applications by the posted deadline from current employees within the classification of the vacancy, shall be posted with all employees and also for non-employees.
(a) No new employee shall be interviewed for a vacant position until the four (4) applicants from the unit with the greatest seniority have been interviewed and have been determined by the Superintendent or the immediate supervisor to be unacceptable for the posted position.
(b) Other members of the unit (with less seniority than the four that are guaranteed an interview) will be considered before the applications from non-current employees.
(c) In all cases, the Employer shall select the best qualified candidate from those applying by considering the following: ability demonstrated, work record, and seniority. Good attendance or poor attendance will be an integral part of work record.
b. Bargaining unit members hired from outside and within the classification shall be granted a one (1) week trial period. In the event the district returns the employee (or the employee elects to return) to his/her former position during the trial period, the vacancy will be re-posted and reference checks the applicants from the initial posting will commence promptly after be contacted to ascertain their continued interest in consideration for the completion of interviews. The notices of vacancy shall be placed at each site position.
c. Should a position increase in hours by two (i.e., school, board office2) or more hours per day in a designated area and fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) or if a copy sent to the local Union President.
B. All timelypart-filed applications will be reviewed by the Employer and time position becomes full-time, the position will be awarded re-posted, subject to the applicant that following conditions:
(1) This provision will not apply where the adjustment in hours is not anticipated to exceed sixty (60) consecutive working days.
d. For informational purposes, the Employer deems most qualified. Criteria for selection shall include qualifications, skills and/or experience relevant to furnish the Association with a copy of each job to be performed, posting at the time the notice is posted or mailed and seniority with a notice of the Board. The Employer will grant an initial interview and give consideration to all bargaining unit applicants who have timely submitted a bid and meet the required qualifications set forth in the job postingsuccessful applicant.
C. In the event the Employer deems 2 e. Vacancies created by leaves of absence or more applicants equally qualified, preference will vacations shall not be given to an applicant from within the bargaining unit with the most system seniority, if any. If the Employer deems 2 or more applicants from within the bargaining unit equally qualified, preference will be given to the applicant with the most seniority with the Boardposted except as required under Article 22.
D. Tests given to determine qualifications shall be uniformly applied to all applicants for a given position.
E. If an hourly-rate bargaining unit member is awarded a position in another hourly-rate classification, then the bargaining unit member shall retain his/her current hourly rate in the new classification, unless the initial hire rate in the new classification is higher.
