Joint Consultative Committee. (JCC)‌ 6.01 There shall be a Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) to be comprised of three (3) representatives of the Bargaining Unit and three (3) representatives of the University. The Director of Human Resources and the Bargaining Unit President shall be ex-officio members of this Committee and will count as two (2) of the six (6) members. Either side may appoint, on a temporary basis, one replacement representative based on availability of the selected representatives. A quorum for the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) shall be four (4) of its members, with a minimum of two (2) members representing each of the University administration and the Bargaining Unit. 6.02 The Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) shall attempt: a) to develop and maintain a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect; b) to review matters arising from the administration, interpretation and operation of the Agreement and other matters of mutual concern but excluding any dispute which is currently being resolved under the grievance procedures in this Collective Agreement; c) to facilitate better working relationships between the University and the OSSTF Algoma University Support Staff; d) to xxxxxx better communication between the various components of the University community; e) to encourage career development opportunities and job enhancements; f) to develop measures in order to alleviate and minimize any adverse impact including but not limited to job restructuring, duties normally performed by members of the Algoma University Support Staff and terms of employment. 6.03 The Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) will meet monthly and on an ad hoc basis with an agenda to be agreed upon at the beginning of each meeting. In addition, a formal request by the co-chair of either party for a meeting will be honoured by the other party within seven (7) working days. In the event of a formal request to meet, each member of the Committee shall receive notice not less than five (5) working days before the scheduled meeting, and shall receive the agenda of the meetings at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance. Minutes of the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) meetings will be taken in simple point form describing items of discussion, areas of disagreement, areas of agreement and actions to be taken.

Each Party shall appoint one of its JCC representatives to co-chair the meetings (each, a “Co-Chair”). The Co-Chairs shall (i) coordinate and shall receive prepare the agenda and ensure the orderly conduct of the meetings at least forty-eight meetings; (48ii) hours in advance. Minutes attend each meeting; and (iii) prepare and issue minutes of each meeting within thirty (30) days thereafter accurately reflecting the discussions and decisions of the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) meetings . Such minutes from each meeting shall not be finalized until each Co-Chair representing each Party has reviewed and confirmed the accuracy of such minutes in writing. The Co-Chairs shall solicit agenda items from JCC representatives and provide an agenda along with appropriate information for such agenda reasonably in advance of any meeting. It is understood that such agenda will be taken include all items requested by either Co-Chair for inclusion therein. In the event the Co-Chair from either Party is unable to attend or participate in simple point form describing items of discussiona JCC meeting, areas of disagreement, areas of agreement and actions to be takenthe Party who designated such Co-Chair may designate a substitute Co-Chair for such meeting in its sole discretion.
