Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee. The Employer and the Union recognize the role of the joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in promoting a safe and healthful workplace. The parties agree that a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee shall be established. Every effort will be made to schedule committee meetings, workplace inspections and accident investigations during the committee members’ scheduled working hours. All minutes of the meetings of the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee will be recorded in a mutually agreeable format and will be sent to the Union. The Employer agrees to provide or cause to be provided to Employer members of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee adequate training and orientation to the duties and responsibilities of committee members to allow the incumbents to fulfill those duties competently. Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee. (a) The Employer Home and the Union recognize Association agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the role of home in order to prevent accidents, injury and illness and abide by the joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in promoting Act as amended from time to time. If such a transfer is not feasible, the pregnant employee, if she so requests, will be granted an unpaid leave of absence before commencement of the current contractual maternity leave. (j) Where the Home identifies high risk areas where nurses are exposed to infectious or communicable diseases for which there are available protective medications, such medications shall be provided at no cost to the duties nurses. The Home will keep adequate stocks of the N95 respirator to be made available to nurses in the event the Joint Occupational Health and responsibilities Safety Committee concludes that there are reasonable indications of committee members the emergence of a pandemic. Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee. The Employer and the Nurses recognize their obligations to ensure compliance and enforcement as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Where in the view of the nurse a possible infraction under the OH&S Act or the OH&S Employer policies are not being followed, the nurse shall have the authority to, in a timely manner, report such to the duties and responsibilities Employer. ONA will provide the Corporation with a list of committee members to allow the incumbents to fulfill those duties competently. When no other union designated committee member or union designated employee is available, time spent by employees attending to this committee business on their days of rest or outside their regularly scheduled hours of work shall not be considered time worked but such employees shall receive equivalent time off at straight-time. (f) The Employer and the Union agree that it is mutually beneficial to have all members in attendance at meetings of health and safety committees. The Employer agrees shall make every reasonable effort to provide or cause ensure that the union members are able to be provided attend such meetings. (g) An employee who serves on a health and safety committee and who is designated to Employer members investigate matters pertaining to safety and health during their normal working hours shall receive the rate of the Joint Occupational Health pay they would normally earn if they were not serving on these committees. (h) The health and Safety Committee adequate training and orientation safety committee may refer unresolved issues to the duties and responsibilities of joint labour management committee members for possible resolution. This provision does not limit any right to allow the incumbents to fulfill those duties competently. The Union agrees to provide or cause to be provided to Union members of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee adequate training and orientation to the duties and responsibilities of committee members to allow the incumbents to fulfill those duties competently. The Hospital and the Union recognize that any form of verbal, physical, sexual, racial or other abuse is not acceptable. Any employee who believes a situation to be provided to Union members of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee adequate training and orientation abusive shall report this to the duties and responsibilities of committee members immediate supervisor who will make every effort to allow correct the incumbents abusive situation. The Hospital will assist an employee to fulfill those duties competently. Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee. The Employer (a) A joint occupational health and the Union recognize the role of the joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in promoting a safe and healthful workplacesafety committee will be maintained. The parties agree that a Joint Occupational Health and Safety (XXXX) Committee shall be established. The Committee shall will govern itself in accordance with the provisions of the Industrial Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations made pursuant to Regulation. The XXXX Committee will be between the Workers' Compensation Act. Representatives Employer and the Union, with equal representation, and with each party appointing its own representatives. (b) Employees who are members of the Union shall be chosen by the Union membership or appointed by the Union. The Union agrees these provisions shall be construed to require a single JOSH committee for the Employer’s operations. The employee member(s) of the JOHS Committee shall will be granted leave without loss of pay or receive straight straight-time regular wages while attending meetings of the joint committee. The member(s) XXXX Committee, taking reasonable time to prepare for meetings of the Committee shall be granted leave without loss XXXX Committee, and fulfilling other prescribed duties and functions of pay or receive straight time regular wages to participate the XXXX Committee. (e) The XXXX Committee will assist in increasing the awareness of all staff on such topics as: workplace safety, safe lifting techniques, dealing with aggressive residents, WHMIS, and the role and function of the Joint Occupational Health & Safety XXXX Committee. The JOHS Committee will be recorded assist in a mutually agreeable format fostering knowledge of and will be sent to compliance with the Union. The Employer agrees to provide or cause to be provided to Employer members of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Regulation by all staff. (f) The Employer, in consultation with the XXXX Committee, will institute a written procedure for checking the well-being of employees assigned to work alone or in isolation under conditions which present a risk of disabling injury, if the employee might not be able to secure assistance in the event of injury or other misfortune. This procedure will be reviewed by the XXXX Committee, and the XXXX Committee adequate training and orientation may make recommendations to the duties Employer, as it deems necessary. (g) The Employer will promote processes that provide the most effective ways to safely perform work. These processes will include consideration of safety measures such as timely risk assessment tools, environmental ergonomic adjustments, care design and responsibilities redesign for residents, sufficient staffing, and training/team meetings (such training/team meetings will be considered training under Clause 19.3 (Scheduled Training)). This will include identifying factors in the workplace that may expose workers to a risk of committee members musculoskeletal injury (MSI), assessing any such risk, and eliminating or, if that is not practicable, minimizing the risk of MSI to allow the incumbents to fulfill those duties competentlyemployees. The Union agrees JOHS Committee will have as part of its mandate the jurisdiction to provide or cause make recommendations on these measures, supported by available resources (e.g., from WCB). (h) The XXXX Committee may make recommendations on ergonomic adjustments and on measures to be provided to Union protect pregnant employees as far as occupational health and safety matters are concerned. (i) As required by the Workers Compensation Act, employees who are members of the Joint JOHS Committee will be entitled to leave to attend OHS training which will be considered training under Clause 19.3 (Scheduled Training). The Employer will pay for, or reimburse the employee for, the cost of the training. (j) The Employer will consult with the Union when making a proposal to WCB for any variation to XXXX Committee requirements under the Workers Compensation Act. (k) Occupational Health health and Safety safety will include both physical and psychological health and safety. (l) The XXXX Committee adequate training may request from the Employer information that it considers necessary to identify workplace hazards and orientation to the duties and responsibilities of committee members to allow the incumbents to fulfill those duties competentlymake recommendations.
