Judicial cooperation. 1. The Parties shall enhance judicial cooperation on civil and commercial matters, in particular as regards the promotion and effectiveness of conventions on civil judicial cooperation. 2. The Parties shall enhance judicial cooperation on criminal matters based on the Agreement between the European Union and Japan on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, signed at Brussels on 30 November 2009 and at Tokyo on 15 December 2009, as may be amended.

Judicial cooperation. 1. As regards judicial cooperation in criminal matters, the Parties shall seek to enhance existing cooperation on mutual legal assistance and extradition based on relevant international agreements. The Parties shall also, within their powers and competences, seek to strengthen existing mechanisms and, as appropriate, consider the development of new mechanisms to facilitate international cooperation in this area. This would include, as appropriate, accession to, and implementation of, the relevant international instruments and closer cooperation with Eurojust. 2. The Parties shall develop, as appropriate, judicial cooperation in civil and commercial matters, to the extent of their respective competences, in particular, as regards the negotiation, ratification and implementation of multilateral conventions on civil judicial cooperation, including the Conventions of the Hague Conference on Private International Law in the field of international legal cooperation and litigation as well as the protection of children.

  • Mutual Cooperation In any contest of a tax or fee by one Party, the other Party shall cooperate fully by providing records, testimony and such additional information or assistance as may reasonably be necessary to pursue the contest. Further, the other Party shall be reimbursed for any reasonable and necessary out- of-pocket copying and travel expenses incurred in assisting in such contest.

  • Industrial cooperation 1. The Parties agree that industrial cooperation shall promote the modernisation and restructuring of Andean industry and individual sectors, as well as industrial cooperation between economic operators, with the objective of strengthening the private sector under conditions that ensure that the environment is protected. 2. Industrial cooperation initiatives shall reflect the priorities determined by both Parties. They shall take into account the regional aspects of industrial development, promoting trans-national partnerships where relevant. Initiatives shall seek in particular to establish a suitable framework for improving management know-how and promoting transparency as regards markets and conditions for business undertakings.
