JUDICIAL LEAVE definition

JUDICIAL LEAVE. We incorporated into the Unit II agreement language from Unit I regarding judicial leave (jury duty), which provides that all less than 12 month employees summoned to serve jury duty due the student academic year may choose to defer their jury service to non- contract days. Unit members who defer their jury duty will receive a stipend of $50 for each day served.
JUDICIAL LEAVE. The District will grant a paid leave to employees under subpoena to appear as a witness in court other than as a litigant. Employee will provide a copy of the subpoena if requested.

Examples of JUDICIAL LEAVE in a sentence

  • Written notification must be made to the building principal/administrator prior to Judicial Leave and a written statement of pay received must be submitted at the completion of the leave.

  • The difference between the professional employee's salary and pay for Judicial Leave will be paid by the district.

  • Professional Employees using non-accumulative leave will make a written application to their building principal/administrator for Leave for Governmental Service, Judicial Leave, Association Leave and Professional Leave in advance.

  • Employees will be granted Judicial Leave to serve as a juror or subpoenaed witness in any court of law, during which period the Employee will receive the difference between their normal earnings and any payment received for such service – excluding payment for travel, meals or reimbursement for other expenses.

  • An employee granted Judicial Leave shall forward to the district any pay received for attendance at the proceeding.

  • The difference between the Professional Employee's salary and pay for Judicial Leave will be paid by the district.

  • In the event an employee is part of a legal action against the District, Judicial Leave shall be granted without pay or benefits.

  • Professional Employees using non-accumulative leave will make written application to their building principal/administrator for Leave for Governmental Service, Judicial Leave, Association Leave and Professional Leave in advance.

  • Judicial Leave is not a right but an option which may be exercised in the sole discretion of the City and shall be unpaid.

  • Judicial Leave: In the event a staff member is summoned to serve as a juror, or is subpoenaed to appear as a witness in court or is named as a co-defendant with the District, such staff member shall receive a normal day's pay for each day of required presence in court.

  • Human Rights means the rights relating to life, liberty, equality and dignity of the individual guaranteed by the Constitution or embodied in the International Covenants and enforceable by courts in India.
