Jury Duty and Court Appearance Leave. ‌ 8.9.1 Leave of absence without loss of pay and benefits will be provided to a faculty member summoned to serve on a jury; or when subpoenaed or summoned as a witness in a criminal or civil proceeding not occasioned by the faculty member’s private affairs; or when the faculty member accompanies a dependent child when the child is subpoenaed or summoned to appear as a witness in a criminal or civil proceeding; or when appearing as a defendant in a criminal or traffic case if acquitted therefrom. 8.9.2 To qualify for permission from the appropriate Xxxx or Director to be absent with pay and benefits, the faculty member shall produce the summons or subpoena or submit such other evidence showing the necessity for the court appearance. 8.9.3 A faculty member in receipt of pay or benefits under this Article has the responsibility to reimburse the employer all monies paid to them by the Court, except travelling and meal allowances not reimbursed by the College.
