Taking Leave of Absence. 18.8.3.1 When the employee returns, he/she shall return to his/her pre leave position wage and progression step. 18.8.3.2 During the Leave of Absence, the employee will receive payment monthly through automatic bank deposit to the employee’s account. All of the Deferred Amount shall be paid no later than the end of the first calendar year that commences after the last calendar year of deferral.

Taking Leave of Absence. 17.3.1 The leave of absence shall occur according to, and be governed by, the collective agreement and any subsequent amendments thereto, as executed by the participant and the employer, but under no circumstances will a deferral period in excess of six (6) years be allowed.
Taking Leave of Absence. 6.1 The leave of absence shall occur according to this memorandum and the participation agreement executed between the participant and the employer Employer. 6.2 Upon mutual consent between the employer Employer and the participant the commencement of the leave of absence may be postponed, all subject to the limitations in the memorandum of agreement and the maximum deferral period allowed. Participation in the plan may be suspended if the participant accepts a permanent or temporary position in another department where the leave period creates a staffing vacancy due to insufficient time to fill the vacancy or because the position falls within the ‘hard to recruit’ category. 6.3 One month prior to commencing the leave the participant will inform payroll in writing of the payout option chosen: Option #1: lump sum payout of all deferred amounts plus interest less all deductions as per Appendix A D. Option #2: bi-weekly deposits to the participant’s account less all deductions as per Appendix A D. The bi-weekly deductions and amount paid shall be proportionate to the monies retained by the employer Employer and duration of the leave of absence. 6.4 During the leave of absence the participant may not receive any additional remuneration from the employer Employer or another Health Region or Affiliate in Saskatchewan other than the benefit entitlement defined in Appendix A D. 6.5 The leave of absence shall commence immediately following the deferral period, unless agreed to as per section 6. 6.6 Upon completion of the leave of absence the Income Tax Act requires the participant to return to the employer Employer for a period not less than the period of absence. 6.7 During the deferral period: 6.7.1 Any applicable pension contributions and health and welfare benefits computed with reference to salary shall be structured according to Appendix A D. 6.7.2 The participant and employer Employer will continue paying the regular share of pension contributions and health and welfare premiums as delineated in Appendix A D. 6.7.3 Pensionable service and pension accruals shall conform to the provisions of the various pension plans and will include prescribed compensation as permitted and described in the Income Tax Act and Regulations. 6.8 During the leave of absence period: 6.8.1 The participant and the employer Employer will each pay the regular share of pension contributions and health and welfare premiums as delineated in Appendix A D. 6.8.2 Pensionable service and pens...
Taking Leave of Absence a) The Leave of Absence shall occur according to, and be governed by, the terms of the approved application. b) Leaves of Absence shall be for a period of three (3) consecutive months, if the deferral period is one (1) year, or six (6) consecutive months for all other deferral periods. c) The Leave of Absence shall commence within six (6) months of the ending of the deferral period and will be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time, subject to the operational needs of the office.

  • LEAVE OF ABSENCE 14.01 All requests for personal leave of absence of three (3) working days or less shall be made verbally to the Store Manager. If granted, permission will be given in writing to the employee concerned by the Store Manager. 14.02 All requests for personal leave of absence of more than three (3) working days shall be made to the Human Resources Manager in writing by the employee concerned and the letter shall indicate in full the reason for requesting the leave of absence. Each request will be considered on its individual merit and the granting or refusal of all such requests for leave of absence shall be made by the Human Resources Manager in writing to the employee concerned with a copy to the Union Office within fourteen (14) days. Where the request is refused, the letter will state the reason for the refusal. 14.03 If an employee is elected to an office in the Union and the performance of such office requires leave of absence, such leave of absence (up to a maximum of twelve (12) months) without pay or other benefits shall be arranged between the Union, the employee, and the Company. Except in cases of emergency, beyond the control of the Union, the Union agrees to notify in writing the Labour Relations Department at least thirty (30) days in advance that such leave of absence is requested. Leave of absence, if arranged, shall state the length of time the employee may be absent (up to a maximum of twelve (12) months). 14.04 If an employee is elected a delegate of the Union to a Union Convention, Seminar, or Educational Conference, and such attendance requires leave of absence, such leave of absence, without pay, shall be arranged by mutual agreement between the Union, the employee, and the Company. Except in cases of emergency, beyond the control of the Union, the Union agrees to notify in writing the Manager, Industrial Relations at least fifteen (15) days in advance that such leave of absence is requested. Leave of absence, if arranged, shall state the length of time the employee may be absent and such absence shall not exceed three (3) weeks. If the leave of absence is for less than one (1) full week, the employee's day off that week will be scheduled for a day other than those days included in the leave of absence. For all leaves of absence granted under this article for Seminars or Educational Conferences, the Union will pay the Company the cost of maintaining all employee benefits during the leave of absence. For the term of this agreement payment will be calculated at $3.16 per hour. 14.05 An employee granted leave of absence as outlined above in subsections 14.01, 14.02, 14.03, 14.04 shall be restored without loss of seniority to the employee’s former position or to a similar position at the then prevailing wage rate at the expiration of the employee’s leave of absence. This provision becomes void, however, if the absence exceeds the period granted.

  • Unpaid Leave of Absence If an employee is on an unpaid leave of absence, then vacation leave, compensatory time, or sick leave cannot be used for the purpose of maintaining eligibility for an Employer Contribution by keeping the employee on a State payroll for one (1) working day per pay period.
