Common use of Jury or Witness Leave Clause in Contracts

Jury or Witness Leave. Upon approval of the Superintendent, a covered employee who is subpoenaed as a witness in a civil or criminal case, or who is called for service on a jury, will be granted paid leave for the period of time he/she is unable to report to work for this reason. Application for the leave will be made in advance and submitted with a copy of the subpoena or notice of jury duty. The covered employee shall pay over to the Rochester School Board and City of Rochester any money paid for such witness or jury service except that portion of the money identified as personal expense, such as for travel.
