Leave for Military Exigency. As required by Federal law, eligible nurses are also entitled to up to 12 weeks of leave because of “any qualifying exigency” as defined by the Department of Labor arising out of the fact that the spouse, son, daughter, or parent of the employee is a reservist, National Guard member, or a recalled retired member who has been notified of an impending call to active duty status in support of a contingency operation.
