Inservice Education. A regular and ongoing inservice education program shall be maintained and made available to all shifts and to all personnel with programs posted in advance. The posting will indicate if attendance is mandatory. Employees required by the Employer to attend in-service education during off duty hours will be paid at their regular rate of pay, or overtime, if applicable.
Inservice Education. A regular and ongoing inservice education program shall be instituted and maintained and made available to all shifts with programs posted in advance. The content and procedures of the program are a suitable subject for discussion by the Conference and Patient Care Committees. All nurses required to attend Inservice Education shall be paid according to Article 7 of this Agreement. Mandatory inservice shall be posted in advance.
Inservice Education. When a nurse is required by the Employer to attend meetings, in-service, and other work related functions outside of her regularly scheduled working hours, and the nurse does attend same, she shall be paid for all time spent on such attendance at her regular straight time hourly rate of pay, or at the nurse's option, she shall receive equivalent time off. The Employer shall pay fifty per cent (50%) up to a maximum of two hundred dollars ($200) per year per employee for educational tuition and expenses with Employer's approval.
Inservice Education. 31.01 The parties to the Collective Agreement recognize the value of continuing inservice education for Employees, and that the responsibility for such continuing education lies with both the Employer and the Employee. For the purpose of this Article, the term "inservice" includes orientation, acquisition and maintenance of essential skills and other programs which may be offered by the Employer.
31.02 The Employer reserves the right to identify specific inservice sessions as being mandatory for Employees. An Employee required to attend such mandatory inservice shall be paid at her Basic Rate of Pay for the regular time hours spent in attendance. Time spent at in-service that exceeds the Employees regular time hours will be paid at the applicable overtime rates. Where practicable, mandatory inservice sessions will be scheduled during the Employee’s regularly scheduled shift. Employees on off shifts will be paid for a minimum of three (3) hours at attendance of any mandatory in-service session.
31.03 Where the Employer directs the Employee to attend an in-service or education session that is held off Site, Employees will be paid in accordance with the Covenant Health Travel Policy as follows:
(a) reimbursed the bus fare, if using public transit;
(b) kilometreage from Youville Home to the location of the in-service, shall be paid if the distance is more than ten (10) kilometres from the Site;
(c) Parking (with receipts).
31.04 The Employer shall make available:
(i) an annual inservice on the prevention and management of staff abuse;
(ii) an inservice on management of aggressive behavior, as deemed appropriate by the Employer.
Inservice Education. U-1 Both the Hospital and the Union recognize the value of inservice education. Therefore, the Hospital will endeavour to provide inservice education programmes related to the requirements of the Hospital. Available programmes will be publicized.
Inservice Education. Alternative professional development may count toward the district’s in-service requirement with approval of the superintendent or the superintendent’s designee.
Inservice Education. The Medical Center will continue to conduct regularly scheduled in-service classes for Registered Nurses. Attendance at specific in-service classes by a particular Registered Nurse or a particular group of Registered Nurses may be required by the Medical Center. All in-service classes and department meetings where attendance is required by the Medical Center and all in-service classes and department meetings actually attended during a Registered Nurse’s working time, shall be paid time. At the Registered Nurse’s option, unpaid in-service classes attended by a Registered Nurse during nonworking hours can qualify for educational leave payments. The Medical Center will consult upon request with the Association in an effort to improve the presentation and content of regularly scheduled in-service classes. Registered Nurses who must take a full shift off of work to complete a mandatory in-service class will be compensated for their full shift regardless of the time spent in the class. All travel time incurred in conjunction with mandatory education not offered at the Medical Center campus will be paid in accordance with state and federal law and mileage reimbursed in accordance with Providence policy. It is the responsibility of the nurse to record and timely report such time.
Inservice Education. When an in-service education program is provided by the Employer for employees in a particular classification or classifications covered under the Agreement, the Employer will use its best efforts to insure that the training sessions are available to all employees in such classification or classifications. Such best efforts shall include the presentation of programs on alternate shifts when appropriate and alternating the time and shift of presentation as operations permit.
Inservice Education.
1. CROZER will continue to provide in-service education for staff nurses on a continuing and regular basis, and it shall be the responsibility of the employee to seek opportunities to meet individual learning needs.
Inservice Education. Representatives of the board and the association will establish a professional development committee with the goal of developing a state approved in-service plan. The professional development committee shall consist of one teacher from each of the four buildings and one teacher representing the traveling teachers, as well as all administrators of the district. The committee shall organize itself and make recommendations to the board for the planning and implementing of in-service education for the professional staff. The Board reserves the right to initiate in-service education in addition to the in-service planned by the professional development committee. The superintendent may, after consultation with the professional development committee, organize and schedule up to one day per year for mass visitation to allow teachers to view exemplary programs and/or teachers in the area.
