Leave of Absence for Jury or Witness Duty. The Corporation will pay to an employee who is required to serve on a Jury, or who is subpoenaed to appear as a witness in a criminal or civil trial in a Court of Law, his regular earnings for the time missed, provided that he furnishes the Corporation with a certificate of service. No such payment will be made in a case where the employee is a party to the proceedings. a) Where at the request of the Corporation an employee, as a result of the functions he fulfills on behalf of the employer, is required to appear as a witness in a criminal trial, civil trial or before an arbitrator on a day other than a regularly scheduled work day, he shall be granted another day of rest or vacation day.
