Leave of Absence for Political Office. a) The Board shall grant a leave of absence without pay, benefits or other entitlements, save and except seniority which shall continue to accrue, to a teacher for the purpose of campaigning for or serving as an elected member of the Municipality, Legislative Assembly of Ontario or the Federal House of Commons. b) A teacher who is an unsuccessful candidate for election, or re-election, shall return to the teacher’s school or workplace to a position for which they are qualified, subject to Article 23 Annual Staffing Process.
