Common use of Leave to Hold Office Clause in Contracts

Leave to Hold Office. Employment‌ Any employee elected or appointed to an office or position in the Union, or working for the Union, shall be granted a leave of absence for a period of continuous service with the Union not to exceed two (2) years. The leave may exceed two (2) years in cases where the term of office exceeds this period. Thirty (30) days written notice must be given to the Employer before the employee takes leave to accept such office, position, or work with the Union. Such leave of absence shall be without pay.
