Common use of Leaves of Absence and Layoffs Clause in Contracts

Leaves of Absence and Layoffs. A leave or leaves of absence or layoff period totaling two (2) years or less shall not void the continuity of the probationary period. A maximum of one (1) year's leave may be counted toward completion of the probationary period, provided that written approval is given by the department chair, the xxxx, and the xxxxxxx at the time the leave is granted.
