LEGISLATION AND THE COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT. 5.1.1 Where this Agreement confers a right or benefit which is superior to that provided by a statute passed by the Government of Canada or Alberta, such superior right or benefit shall prevail. 5.1.2 In the event that any statute passed by the Government of Canada or Alberta renders null and void, or alters, any provision of this Agreement, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect for the term of the Agreement and the Parties hereto shall negotiate, in accordance with the bargaining procedures of this Agreement, a mutually agreed upon provision to be substituted for the provision thus affected.
