Birth. The effective date of coverage for a natural newborn child properly enrolled will be the moment of birth. The effective date of coverage for an adopted newborn child properly enrolled will be the moment of birth provided a written agreement to adopt such child was entered into by the Contractholder prior to the child’s birth.
a) If you enroll an eligible newborn child within 30 days after the date of birth, no additional Premium will be charged for the newborn child’s coverage for the 30- day period immediately following the newborn’s birth.
b) If you enroll an eligible newborn child within 31 to 60 days after the date of birth, we will charge the applicable Premium for the newborn child’s coverage from the date of birth.
Birth. An Employee shall be granted up to three (3) work days for the birth or adoption proceedings of his child.
Birth. The Company shall grant to an employee a paid leave of one (1) working day at the time of the birth of his child by his spouse or the adoption of his child.
Birth. For purposes of this section, “birth” shall include not only the actual birth but also any period of disability of the mother or child due to birth. However, “birth” shall not be interpreted to include a non-disability child-rearing leave. Child-rearing leaves shall be available in accordance with the terms of other sections of this Agreement, as may be applicable, and the provisions of the District’s Family and Medical Leave Act Policy.

Birth. In the event of a birth, the parental leave will begin on the date of the cessation of the medical disability associated with the birth for a female employee and on the date of birth of the child for a male employee.
