Common use of Local Union Meetings Clause in Contracts

Local Union Meetings. (a) Employees shall be entitled to be absent from work for two hours prior to 4:30 p.m. for the purpose of attending union meetings. This leave shall be granted two times per calendar year and shall be with no loss of pay or benefits. (b) Afternoon shift employees shall be entitled to two hours near the beginning of their shifts as per (a) above. (c) The Union shall notify the Employer of the details of such meetings two weeks prior to the meeting and shall consult with the Employer on appropriate dates. (d) An additional two hours shall be granted to all employees, as per the provisions of Clauses (a) and (b) above, for the purposes of dealing with ratification matters.
