Common use of LONG TERM DISABILITY PROGRAM Clause in Contracts

LONG TERM DISABILITY PROGRAM. Employees covered by this Agreement are covered by the Long Term Disability (“LTD”) Program described in this Section instead of the non-duty disability benefit provisions of the Pension Plan. Leaves under this Section are unpaid except for the benefits provided by this Section, and employees do not accrue length of service under this Agreement or the Pension Plan while on LTD leave. Terms of the insurance policy control except as specifically provided below, including the insurance policy preexisting condition provision for employees with less than twelve (12) months of service. When an employee is sick or injured, they may be eligible for benefits through the Long- Term Disability Policy which provides employees with sixty percent (60%) of their pay to age 65 in accordance with the following:
