Long Term Substitute. A long -term substitute is either someone who works more than twenty (20) consecutive days as a substitute or someone who works more than thirty (30) intermittent days as a substitute in a twelve month period.
Long Term Substitute. A substitute who remains in a single assignment of forty-five (45) or more consecutive workdays.

Long Term Substitute substitute teacher who holds a position longer than twenty (20) consecutive work days. After the 20th day, the Long Term Substitute shall be placed on the SEA salary schedule, retroactive to the first day of the position.
Long Term Substitute. The long-term rate of pay, as per Addendum C-9, shall be provided to substitutes for more than twenty
Long Term Substitute. A long-term substitute is a Rhode Island certified teacher appointed by the Lincoln School Committee to substitute for an absent regular teacher whose absence exceeds forty-five (45) consecutive school days during a single school year. School Committee appointments shall be made in accordance with applicable Lincoln School Committee policies. A long-term substitute shall have the continuous responsibilities of effective appropriate instructional programs, assuming related responsibilities and participating in the school community as the otherwise absent teacher. The long-term substitute shall be evaluated by the supervising administrator in accordance with procedures for evaluating non-tenured teachers. The evaluation shall be performed at least once if the term of employment is between 45 and 60 consecutive days. Such “appropriate step” will be determined based on the number of years of service, experience, and training. Teaching service in Rhode Island public schools only shall be recognized. Long-term substitute time shall not be credited toward tenure, nor will any fringe benefits, other than as may be required by State law, be provided. A year of service, experience, and training is considered to be 136 or more days of teaching within a single school year.
Long Term Substitute. 19 A substitute who works twenty (20) to sixty (60) consecutive days in the same position 20 is considered a long-term substitute.
Long Term Substitute. A long-term substitute is a person who is temporarily employed but works more than twenty (20) consecutive days in one (1) assignment. Upon completion of twenty (20) consecutive days in one (1) assignment, the person shall be considered a long- term substitute and an employee within the bargaining unit.

Long Term Substitute. Refers to substitute teachers who fill the position of an absent regular, licensed or authorized classroom teacher or specialist, if the absence lasts for more than 35 consecutive teaching days. The salary will be at Step 2, Lane 0 without years of experience consideration. Health insurance eligibility will begin after the 60th working day on contract unless a definitive return date of the incumbent is within ten working days after the 60th day or the end of the school year is within ten working days after the 60th day.
Long Term Substitute. Persons hired for a limited period of time to replace a permanent employee on authorized leave.
2.70.1 Persons assigned to long-term substitute positions of forty-five (45) continuous work days or more will become members of the bargaining unit and will be granted the employee rights of 2.70.2 applied retroactively from the first day of the temporary position. Non-student days and school breaks shall not be counted as an interruption of the continuous work days. The District shall not intentionally interrupt the service of continuous work days.
2.70.2 Long-term substitutes shall be entitled to limited coverage under this Agreement as follows: Employee rights in Articles 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, (newly hired means as of the 45th continuous calendar day), 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 14, 15, 20, 23, 24, 25, 28, 32, (on a prorata basis without accumulation), 43.70, 45, 54 (through Step 2), 55, 56. Appendices X, X-0, X, X-0 and B-2 as limited.
2.70.3 For a long-term substitute assignment the person occupying such assignment shall be eligible for group insurance programs as defined in Article 52.
