Common use of Loss of Seniority and Termination Clause in Contracts

Loss of Seniority and Termination. An employee shall lose his seniority rights for the following reasons only: (a) If he quits. (b) If he has been discharged for just cause. (c) If he fails to notify the County within one (1) week of his intention upon recall from layoff and does not report for work within two (2) weeks of recall (by certified, return receipt mail). (d) If he has been in a layoff status longer than provided for above. (e) If he fails to return to work on the first workday following the expiration date of a leave of absence. (f) If he retires on a voluntary or compulsory basis.
