MANAGING YOUR FILES & SAVING YOUR WORK. Saving documents on Google Docs Students will be logging into RSA’s Google Apps for Education domain and saving documents to their Google Docs accounts. With each individual’s Chrome login, the student can access his or her schoolwork from any computer that has Internet access.

MANAGING YOUR FILES & SAVING YOUR WORK. 3.1 Saving on the PLD Fargo Schools has adopted Google Apps for cloudbased storage and document creation; students may use this and other cloudbased storage for their homework at school and at home. Students should not save data locally on the PLD because this data is not backed up. Students will receive information on how to create and save data as part of the orientation session when they receive their PLD.
MANAGING YOUR FILES & SAVING YOUR WORK. In addition to saving directly to the individual MLD, students may also upload to the cloud all of their work periodically using the web based storage associated with their e-mail account. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that work is not lost due to mechanical failure or accidental deletion. MLD malfunctions are not an acceptable excuse for not submitting work. If a MLD is turned in to be serviced, the device may be completely erased. No work on the device will be recovered or protected. Please remember to save all work to the cloud. Student cloud storage accounts are deleted after program completion, so please remember to move your data from the GCCC cloud to one of your choosing after completing your program.

Storage space will be available on the iPad—BUT it will NOT be backed up in case of re-­imaging. Instruction on these techniques will be provided in classes. iPad malfunctions are not an acceptable excuse for not submitting work.

It is recommended students e-mail documents to themselves and/or their teacher for storage on a flash drive or district server or sync to iCloud, Google Docs, Dropbox or similar online service. Storage space will be available on the device but it will NOT be backed up in case of re- imaging. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that work is not lost due to mechanical failure or accidental deletion.
MANAGING YOUR FILES & SAVING YOUR WORK. 4.1 Saving to the Chromebook • Students may save work to their Google Docs (Drive) accounts (or other cloud based storage medium) via the Chromebook. • Storage space will be available on the Chromebook, but since the device has storage limitations it is vital that the storage space be privileged for educational use only. It is also important to note that Chromebooks will NOT be backed up by the district in cases of resetting or re-imaging. • It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their work is backed up and therefore not lost due to mechanical failure or accidental deletion. • Chromebook malfunctions are not an acceptable excuse for not submitting work.
