The mastery of effective and proper email communications is expected of FSD students and is embedded in the Washington State K-12 Essential Academic Learning Requirements and Grade Level Expectations in Educational Technology such as EALR2: Digital Citizenship, Component 2.3, which states that students should be able to "communicate with peers and teachers using email." Consequently, FSD students will be expected to utilize their FSD email account for district and school communication. This account will be assigned to students as they enter the district and will be available for school/educational usage throughout their career in Ferndale School District However, this account will only become "active" for student use beginning at 6th grade (earlier in the case of specific teacher request to be used in his/her classroom). In addition to email, this account will provide access to collaboration tools (word processor, calendar, spreadsheets), as well as other educational related tools. Students should be cautious of emails received from unknown senders. With Email Phishing and Spyware on the rise, students should exercise caution on opening any attachment and/or links if you do not trust or know the sender. Student Email. Students are assigned a district-provided e-mail account through the district’s Google domain. This account may restrict email communication, allowing only student-to-staff messaging to occur and will be determined by the Xxxxxxx Valley School District. No other e-mail account should be usedfor school-related activities. Student email accounts, and their content,are property of the district and are subject to search at any time.
Student Email. From 2018, each student in Year 3-6 will be provided with an @USPS email account, hosted through the Department approved provider, Netspace. The student’s email account linked directly to their iPad. Students may use the “USPS Global Address Book” to communicate with each other and with their teachers, for educational purposes only. All emails which are received or sent using the USPS account are sent through a security filter which is monitored live by the school’s ICT Committee. Students are expected to use their email account for learning related purposes only. Each Classroom Teacher will hold a discussion with their students regarding appropriate contact, and expectations of emailed replies from teachers during times which fall outside of school hours.

Messages related to or in support of illegal activities may be reported to the authorities. • Students should not reveal personal information of themselves or other students and teachers. • Email is not private. Student email will be restricted to education purposes directed by the teacher. • All communications and information accessible via the District’s equipment and network are property of Xxxxxxx City Community School District and may be subject to public information requests.
Student Email. Harrisonburg City Public School’s electronic mail system is owned and controlled by the School Division. The School Division may provide electronic mail to aid students as an educational tool. Electronic mail is not private. Students' electronic mail may be restricted and/or monitored. Unauthorized access to an electronic mail account by any student is prohibited. Users shall be held personally liable for the content of any electronic message they create. Downloading any file attached to an electronic message is prohibited unless the user is certain of that message's authenticity and the nature of the file. High school students will be issued an email account which will allow them to only send email to and receive email from themselves and faculty members at Harrisonburg High School. With teacher sponsorship and signed parent permission, students may apply for expanded access. The second level of access will allow students to send and receive email from other students and at Harrisonburg High School, while the most advanced access would allow students to send and receive email from any domain. Limited email access may be provided to other students for special projects through the use of moderated email system.
