Mandatory Conditions. (a) Should the Employer fail to comply with any time limits in the grievance procedure, the grievance shall automatically move to the next step on the day following the expiry of the particular time limit, unless the parties have mutually agreed in writing to extend the time limits. (b) During any and all grievance proceedings, the Employee shall continue to perform their duties, except in cases of suspension or dismissal. (c) A suspension or dismissal grievance shall commence at Step 2. (d) Should the Union fail to comply with the time limits in this procedure, the grievance shall be considered abandoned, unless the parties agree to extend the time limits.
