Maternity Leave Plan “A”. 1. Up to seventeen (17) weeks of Maternity Leave without pay will be granted subject to the following conditions: (a) a written request must be submitted no later than the end of the fifth (5th) month of pregnancy and not less than one (1) month before the intended date of the leave. (b) if requested by the nurse, unpaid Maternity Leave of shorter duration may be granted at the discretion of the Employer. (c) the Employer is entitled to require a nurse to stop work in the case of unsatisfactory job performance or if the state of the nurse’s health as verified by a qualified medical practitioner becomes incompatible with the requirements of their job.
