Common use of Meal Clause in Contracts

Meal. When an employee is required to and does work for three (3) or hours of overtime after his normal shift he shall be provided with a hot meal or five dollars ($5.00) if the Hospital is unable to provide the meal or has been unable to schedule a break during the overtime period. Notwithstanding the foregoing, where the overtime assignment is for a period of three (3) hours, not more or less, the employee is not required to take a hot meal, if available, and may claim the five dollars ($5.00) payment. Not applicable.
