Common use of Membership Deductions Clause in Contracts

Membership Deductions. Within thirty (30) days of their commencement of employment, teachers must sign and deliver to the business office a dues check-off authorization and assignment form which is attached hereto as Appendix K and incorporated in this Agreement. Said form shall authorize deduction of membership dues and assessments of the Association (including the National Education Association and the WEA). Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year unless a written request for revocation is submitted, signed by the teacher and received between August 1 and August 31 preceding the designated school year for which revocation is to take effect. All Membership “drop” requests must be processed through the WEA office before payroll may cease deduction of dues.
