6. The Mentee shall be assigned to only one (1) Mentor Teacher at a time.
7. The Mentor Teacher assignment shall be for one (1) year, subject to review by the Administration, Mentor Teacher and Mentee after three (3) months. The appointment may be renewed in succeeding years.
8. Mentor Teachers may have up to two (2) mentees if so desired.
D. Because the purpose of the mentor-/mentee match is to acclimate the bargaining unit member and to provide necessary assistance toward the end of quality instruction, the Board and the Association agree the relationship shall be confidential and shall not not, in any fashion, be a matter included in the evaluation of the mentor teacher nor of the menteeMentor Teacher or Mentee. 3. The mentor teacher assignment shall be for one up to four (14) school year subject to review by the mentor teacher and mentee in April of each school year. The assignment may be renewed in succeeding years upon concurrence of the mentor, mentee and the Administration. The mentor teacher shall be paid two hundred dollars ($200) hours per mentee, month for the first year. If mentee is placed on , up to a plan of assistance, the payment will remain two hundred dollars four ($200.4) If a mentee is not on a plan of assistance, payment for hours every other month in the second year shall be one hundred dollars year, and up to four ($1004) and fifty dollars ($50) for hours every three months in the third year. Requests for greater time spent with the Mentee will be addressed with the building principal. It is also understood that time between the Mentor Teacher and the Mentee will necessarily take place weekly beyond the normal working day to establish this collaborative relationship. Time commitments beyond this minimum may be subject to revision due to state mandates. This provision is a suggested standard and will not be a factor in the decision to retain or dismiss a mentee.
4. F. Mentees shall be provided with a minimum of fifteen (15) days of professional development activities during their first three (3) years of classroom teaching. Professional development shall be scheduled within the parameters of the regular work day and work year. Such professional development activities will be chosen with the concurrence of the Mentor Teacher, Mentee and Administration.

3. The mentor teacher assignment shall be subject to renewal on a year-threatening collegial fashionto-year basis based on a review by the administration, the mentor teacher and the mentee at the end of the year.
4. It is understood that the mentor-The mentor teacher/mentee relationship shall be confidential and shall not in any fashion be a matter included in the evaluation of the mentor teacher nor of or mentee.
5. Upon request, the menteeadministration shall make available reasonable release time for classroom/teacher observations (as approved by the building administrator). Neither mentor nor the mentee Additionally, release time shall be permitted made available for mentor-mentee meeting time. First and second year mentor/mentees shall have available up to participate three (3) half-day releases per school year if mentor and mentee are not in the evaluation of the other. 3. The mentor teacher assignment shall be for one (1) half-day per school year subject release if the mentor and mentee are in the same building. Third year mentor/mentees shall have available up to review by two (2) half-day releases if not in the same building and one (1) half-day release if in the same building so the mentor teacher and may work with the mentee in April his/her assignment during the regular work day. It is expected that mentors will meet with their mentees at least one and one-half hours a month before or after school to discuss curriculum and instructional issues September through May. Meeting (contact) time must be at least 30 minutes long to meet this monthly requirement. Documentation of each the dates of these meetings will be submitted to the curriculum office at the end of the school year. The assignment Meeting time outside the contract year shall be voluntary except that a first year teacher mentor may be renewed in succeeding years upon concurrence of required to attend a mentor/mentee meeting during the mentor, mentee and new teacher orientation arranged by the AdministrationDistrict. 46. Mentees shall be provided with a minimum of fifteen (15) days of professional development during their first three (3) years of employment in classroom teachingteaching within the school day and school calendar for new Teacher .
7. No later than the end of the first year that a bargaining unit member serves as a mentor teacher, he/she should attend a workshop or conference selected by the administration for the purpose of training the bargaining unit member to serve as a mentor teacher. All workshop or conference expenses shall be paid by the District.
8. For up to a one year period mentors will be available upon request for any teacher who is transferring to a subject area or grade level. The compensation rate and meeting requirements will be 50% of those for second year new teacher mentors (release time shall be made available for up to two half-day releases for out of building mentor/mentee and one half-day release for in building mentor/mentee).
9. Newly hired teachers who previously attained tenure will be provided one year of mentoring. This mentoring will be in the “Pathwise” program or some similar program if available. Requirements and compensation shall be as set for a year 2 mentor.
10. Mentors and mentees will be required to attend up to three meetings outside the school day of up to one and one-half hours in length during the course of the year.
11. In order to be eligible for “trained mentor” (Pathwise) pay the mentor must have attended the appropriate training.
D. In the event the law requiring mentor Teacher is repealed or amended during the life of this Agreement, the provisions of this Article that are affected by such change shall be suspended from operation.

It is expected that mentors will meet with their mentees at least one and one-half hours a month before or after school to discuss curriculum and instructional issues September through May. Meeting (contact) time must be at least 30 minutes long to meet this monthly requirement. Documentation of each the dates of these meetings will be submitted to the curriculum office at the end of the school year. No later than the end of the first year that a bargaining unit member serves as a mentor teacher, he/she should attend a workshop or conference selected by the administration for the purpose of training the bargaining unit member to serve as a mentor teacher. All workshop or conference expenses shall be paid by the District.
8. For up to a one year period mentors will be available upon request for any teacher who is transferring to a subject area or grade level. The compensation rate and meeting requirements will be 50% of those for second year new teacher mentors (release time shall be made available for up to two half-day releases for out of building mentor/mentee and one half-day release for in building mentor/mentee).
9. Newly hired teachers who previously attained tenure will be provided one year of mentoring. Requirements and compensation shall be as set for a year 2 mentor.
10. Mentors and mentees will be required to attend up to three meetings outside the school day of up to one and one-half hours in length during the course of the year.
D. In the event the law requiring mentor Teacher is repealed or amended during the life of this Agreement, the provisions of this Article that are affected by such change shall be suspended from operation.
