Common use of Military Training/Duty Leave Clause in Contracts

Military Training/Duty Leave. Up to twenty-one (21) annual paid days of military training/duty leave will be granted when an employee who is a member of the National Guard or any Reserve Branch of the Armed Forces of the United States is ordered to active duty. This military leave will be granted without loss of pay or other benefit. Military leave will not be granted when the employee has choices of time for training and one of the times is not in conflict with his/her normal workdays. Employees must be granted a military leave of absence without pay for service in the uniformed services of the United States or the state, and to reinstatement as provided in chapter 73.16 RCW, and WAC 000-00-000. No adjustments are made to the seniority date, anniversary date, unbroken service date, vacation leave accrual rate, or periodic increment date while an employee is on paid military leave or a military leave of absence without pay or any combination thereof. An employee whose spouse is being called into active duty will receive up to fifteen (15) days of unpaid leave in accordance with the Washington State Family Military Leave Act,
