Nondiscrimination-Civil Rights Compliance. 12.1 The Contractor shall execute Assurances as stated in the Assurances-Non-Construction Programs Attachment that it will not discriminate against any person in the provision of services or benefits under this contract or in employment because of age, race, religion, color, disability, national origin, marital status, or sex in compliance with state and federal law and regulations. The Contractor further assures that all Contractors, Subcontractors, Sub-grantees, or others with whom it arranges to provide services or benefits in connection with any of its programs and activities are not discriminating against clients or employees because of age, race, religion, color, disability, national origin, marital status, or sex. 12.2 During the term of this contract, the Contractor shall complete and retain on file a timely, complete, and accurate Civil Rights Compliance Checklist, attached to this contract. 12.3 The Contractor shall establish procedures pursuant to federal law to handle complaints of discrimination involving services or benefits through this contract. These procedures shall include notifying clients, employees, and participants of the right to file a complaint with the appropriate federal or state entity. 12.4 If this contract contains federal funds, these assurances are a condition of continued receipt of or benefit from federal financial assistance, and are binding upon the Contractor, its successors, transferees, and assignees for the period during which such assistance is provided. The Contractor further assures that all Subcontractors, Vendors, or others with whom it arranges to provide services or benefits to participants or employees in connection with any of its programs and activities are not discriminating against those participants or employees in violation of the any statutes, regulations, guidelines, and standards. In the event of failure to comply, the Contractor understands that the Agency may, at its discretion, seek a court order requiring compliance with the terms of this assurance or seek other appropriate judicial or administrative relief including, but not limited to, termination of the contract and denial of further assistance.

  • Civil Rights Compliance The parties to this Agreement are responsible for the following:

  • Civil Rights A. Xxxxxxx agrees to comply with state and federal anti-discrimination laws, including: i. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. §2000d et seq.); ii. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. §794); iii. Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. §12101 et seq.);

  • Nondiscrimination and Equal Opportunity Consultant shall not discriminate, on the basis of a person’s race, religion, color, national origin, age, physical or mental handicap or disability, medical condition, marital status, sex, or sexual orientation, against any employee, applicant for employment, subcontractor, bidder for a subcontract, or participant in, recipient of, or applicant for any services or programs provided by Consultant under this Agreement. Consultant shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, policies, rules, and requirements related to equal opportunity and nondiscrimination in employment, contracting, and the provision of any services that are the subject of this Agreement, including but not limited to the satisfaction of any positive obligations required of Consultant thereby.   • Compliance with Civil Rights Laws The Contractor hereby assures that it will comply with Subchapter VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 USC Sections 2000 (e) (1) through 2000 (e) (17), to the end that no person shall, on the grounds of race, creed, color, sex, religion, ancestry, age, condition of physical handicap, marital status, political affiliation, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under this Contract or under any project, program, or activity supported by this Contract.   • Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance A. PROVIDER and all Subcontractors agree not to discriminate on the basis of disability in accordance with The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the Wisconsin Statutes secs. 111.321 and 111.34, and Chapter 19 of the Dane County Code of Ordinances. PROVIDER agrees to post in conspicuous places, available to employees, service recipients, and applicants for employment and services, notices setting forth the provisions of this paragraph. B. PROVIDER shall give priority to those methods that offer programs and activities to disabled persons in the most integrated setting. Where service or program delivery is housed in an inaccessible location, and accessible alterations are not readily achievable, PROVIDER agrees to offer “programmatic accessibility” to recipients (real or potential) of said services and programs (e.g. change time/location of service). C. PROVIDER agrees that it will employ staff with special translation and sign language skills appropriate to the needs of the client population, or will purchase the services of qualified adult interpreters who are available within a reasonable time to communicate with hearing impaired clients. PROVIDER agrees to train staff in human relations techniques and sensitivity to persons with disabilities. PROVIDER agrees to make programs and facilities accessible, as appropriate, through outstations, authorized representatives, adjusted work hours, ramps, doorways, elevators, or ground floor rooms. PROVIDER agrees to provide, free of charge, all documents necessary to its clients’ meaningful participation in PROVIDER’s programs and services in alternative formats and languages appropriate to the needs of the client population, including, but not limited to, Braille, large print and verbally transcribed or translated taped information. The PROVIDER agrees that it will train its staff on the content of these policies and will invite its applicants and clients to identify themselves as persons needing additional assistance or accommodations in order to apply for or participate in PROVIDER’s programs and services.

  • D3 Discrimination The Contractor shall not unlawfully discriminate either directly or indirectly on such grounds as race, colour, ethnic or national origin, disability, sex or sexual orientation, religion or belief, or age and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing the Contractor shall not unlawfully discriminate within the meaning and scope of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975, the Race Relations Act 1976, the Equal Pay Act 1970, the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003, the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003, the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006, the Equality Act 2006, the Human Rights Act 1998 or other relevant or equivalent legislation, or any statutory modification or re-enactment thereof.

  • Release of Claims Under Age Discrimination in Employment Act Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Executive agrees that by executing this Release, he has released and waived any and all claims he has or may have as of the date of this Release for age discrimination under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, 29 U.S.C. § 621, et seq. It is understood that Executive is advised to consult with an attorney prior to executing this Release; that he in fact has consulted a knowledgeable, competent attorney regarding this Release; that he may, before executing this Release, consider this Release for a period of twenty-one (21) calendar days; and that the consideration he receives for this Release is in addition to amounts to which he was already entitled. It is further understood that this Release is not effective until seven (7) calendar days after the execution of this Release and that Executive may revoke this Release within seven (7) calendar days from the date of execution hereof.

  • Civil Rights Requirements The Recipient agrees that it must comply with applicable federal civil rights laws, regulations, and requirements, and follow applicable federal guidance, except as the Federal Government determines otherwise in writing. Therefore, unless a Recipient or a federal program, including the Indian Tribe Recipient or the Tribal Transit Program, is specifically exempted from a civil rights statute, FTA requires compliance with each civil rights statute, including compliance with equity in service requirements.
