Nurse Practitioner (Employer Appointed Position) “Nurse Practitioner” means a Registered Nurse appointed as such to a position approved by the employer and who is authorised by the Board under Section 95 of Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (NSW) No 86A. A Nurse Practitioner will have at least three years full-time equivalent experience in an advanced practice role and meets the national competency standards for Nurse Practitioners. A Nurse Practitioner functions autonomously and operates at a level of nursing that uses extended and expanded skills, experience and knowledge assessment, planning, implementation, diagnosis and evaluation of nursing care. Leave of Absence for College Committees An employee whose assigned work schedule would prevent her/him from attending meetings of a college committee to which s/he has been elected or appointed, will be granted a leave of absence from her/his regular duties without loss of pay or other entitlements to attend such meeting(s). Where such leave is granted, the employer will replace the employee as necessary. Costs arising from this provision will not be charged against the program area of the participating employee.
Volunteer Firefighting Leave Leave without pay will be granted when an employee who is a volunteer firefighter is called to duty to respond to a fire, natural disaster or medical emergency.
Citizen Volunteer or Community Service Leave Leave without pay may be granted for community volunteerism or service.
