Common use of Overtime - Equal Distribution Clause in Contracts

Overtime - Equal Distribution. Whenever it is necessary to work overtime, such overtime shall be rotated among employees within each classification in order of seniority. A rotation list shall be established in rank order of seniority from greatest to least. If any employee accepts or rejects the assignment offered, he/she shall be moved to the bottom of the rotation list and the next employee in order shall be offered the assignment. If no employee in the classification chooses to accept the overtime assignment, the District may offer the overtime assignment to an employee outside the classification or hire a substitute employee.
