Common use of P/T Clause in Contracts

P/T. All Employees shall be considered probationary Employees for a period of four hundred and eighty (480) hours worked commencing from the date of the Employee’s most recent appointment to a bargaining unit position. Probationary Employees may be laid off for lack of work or discharged during the probationary period at management’s discretion, provided that such action is not arbitrary, discriminatory or in bad faith. Probationary performance will be monitored, and a written assessment will be conducted after two hundred and forty (240) hours worked. The Union will be advised.
