Common use of Pay for Acting Employees Clause in Contracts

Pay for Acting Employees. (a) When an employee is temporarily assigned to the principal duties of a higher paying position at an hourly rate of pay, he/she shall receive immediately the rate for the job for a minimum of three (3) hours or for the actual time worked in the higher rated job, whichever is greater. When an employee is assigned to a position paying a lower rate, such employee shall incur no reduction in pay. (b) Employees temporarily assigned to positions outside the scope of this Collective Agreement shall be paid, from the beginning of the temporary assigned position, ten percent (10%) above the assigned employee's regular classification for the time worked in the temporary assignment. In each assignment, the employee shall be notified in advance of the temporary assignment.
