Payment for Holidays While on Layoff. Holidays, as outlined in Clause 16.01 shall be paid to an employee if the holiday occurs while the employee is on layoff status where the employee has worked forty (40) hours or more in the pay period in which the holiday falls. No employee will be laid off for the purpose of avoiding payment of a statutory holiday.
