Extension of Compassionate Leave. If the death of a relative referred to in Clause 15.01(a) occurs outside the province, the employee may be granted leave with pay not exceeding four (4) days for the purpose of attending the funeral.

  • Compassionate Leave (1) An employee is entitled to take up to 2 days’ paid compassionate leave on each occasion that a member of his or her immediate family or a member of his or her household: (a) contracts or develops an illness that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or (b) sustains an injury that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or

  • Taking compassionate leave An Employee may take compassionate leave for a particular permissible occasion if the leave is taken: (a) to spend time with the member of the Employee’s immediate family or household who has contracted or developed the personal illness, or sustained the personal injury, referred to clause 5. 2.3.1 of this Agreement; or (b) after the death of the member of the Employee’s immediate family or household An Employee may take compassionate leave for a particular permissible occasion as (a) a continuous two (2) day period; or (b) two (2) separate periods of one (1) day each; or (c) any separate periods to which the Employee and the Employer agree. If the permissible occasion is the contraction or development of a personal illness, or the sustaining of a personal injury, the Employee may take the compassionate leave for that occasion at any time while the illness or injury persists.

  • Compassionate Care Leave 1. For the purposes of this article “family member” means:

  • EXTENSION OF USE The Contract may be extended to additional States or governmental jurisdictions upon mutual written agreement between New York State (the lead contracting State) and the Contractor. Political subdivisions and other authorized entities within each participating State or governmental jurisdiction may also participate in the Contract if such State normally allows participation by such entities. New York State reserves the right to negotiate additional minimum NYS Vehicle Discounts based on any increased volume generated by such extensions.

  • Extension of Leave 7 If an extension of the leave is required, a request for the extension must be 8 submitted in writing at least five (5) days in advance of the leave expiration 9 or as soon as practical. Consideration of an extension will be based on the 10 same criteria as the original request. Failure to return to work at the 11 expiration of the leave may result in termination.

  • Contract Extension The City may, in its sole discretion, unilaterally exercise an option to extend the Contract as described in the Contract Documents. In addition, the City may, in its sole discretion, unilaterally extend the Contract on a month-to-month basis following contract expiration if authorized under Charter section 99 and the Contract Documents.   • Notice Requirements and Commencement of Leave (1) An employee who requests parental leave for the adoption or caring of a child shall be required to provide proof of adoption or birth of the child. (2) An employee shall provide written notice, at least four (4) weeks in advance, of the intended commencement date of the maternity and/or parental leave. (In the case of adoption of a child, the employee shall provide as much notice as possible.) (3) The Employer may require a pregnant employee to commence maternity leave where the duties of the employee cannot reasonably be performed because of the pregnancy. In such cases the employee's previously scheduled leave period will not be affected. (4) An employee on maternity leave or parental leave shall provide four (4) weeks' notice prior to the date the employee intends to return to work. (5) An employee who wishes to return to work within six (6) weeks following the actual date of the birth may be required to provide a certificate from a medical practitioner stating the employee is able to return to work. (6) Where a pregnant employee gives birth before requesting maternity leave or before commencing maternity leave, her maternity leave will be deemed to have started on the date she gave birth.

  • Renewal, Extension The renewal or extension of any Letter of Credit shall, for purposes hereof, be treated in all respects the same as the issuance of a new Letter of Credit hereunder.

  • Renewal, Extension or Rearrangement All provisions of this Agreement and of any other Financing Documents relating to the Notes or other Lender Indebtedness shall apply with equal force and effect to each and all promissory notes hereafter executed which in whole or in part represent a renewal, extension for any period, increase or rearrangement of any part of the Lender Indebtedness originally represented by the Notes, or of any part of such other Lender Indebtedness.
