Permanent and Provisional Employees. a) All employees appointed on a permanent or provisional basis who are appointed to work a standard work week, shall receive sick time (including personal time), disability, vacation time, bereavement pay and holiday pay. They shall be eligible to sign up for health insurance and dental insurance. b) All employees appointed on a permanent or provisional basis who are appointed to work other than a standard work week, at 33% or more full time equivalent, shall accumulate sick, disability and vacation time pro-rated on the basis of percentage of hours paid from anniversary date multiplied by the total vacation or sick hours a full-time employee would earn. Use of personal time shall be pro- rated on the same basis. Employees shall be eligible to sign up for health insurance and dental insurance, the same as full-time employees, if they are working 50% and over the full-time equivalent. They shall receive holiday pay and bereavement pay on the following basis: (i) Employees working five days per week shall receive bereavement or holiday pay based on the average daily hours worked in the last two full pay periods (four weeks). Employees working the full-time equivalent work week, but less than five days per week will receive a maximum of 7 or 8 hours (35 or 40 hour schedule) for each eligible bereavement day or holiday.
