Pipes and Culverts. THE FIRST PARAGRAPH IS CHANGED TO: The width of trench shall be at least 1 foot – 6 inches greater than the outside diameter of the pipe or culvert. When the material at the bottom of the excavation is rock or other hard material, it shall be removed within 6 inches for reinforced concrete culvert pipe and high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, and 1 foot for corrugated metal, steel, or aluminum alloy culvert pipe outside the bottom of the pipe or culvert and the space backfilled with suitable material.

Pipes and Culverts. THE ENTIRE SUBPART A. IS CHANGED TO: Backfill to a height of 2 feet above the top of pipes and culverts, except underdrains, corrugated aluminum alloy culvert pipe and HDPE pipe, shall be made with excavated material free from stones or rock fragments larger than 2 inches in any dimension. Below this level, the backfill shall be placed in layers not more than 6 inches thick, and each layer shall be compacted with flat-face mechanical tampers. Backfill shall be worked into the haunch area and compacted for all pipe. For HDPE pipe, backfill to a height of 2 feet above the top of the pipe shall be made with excavated material free from class IV or class V materials according to ASTM D2321, with stones or rock fragments no larger than 1½ inch in any direction. Below this level, the backfill shall be placed symmetrically on each side of the pipe in layers not more than 6 inches thick with each layer compacted with flat-faced mechanical tampers for all pipe. Backfill to a height of 2 feet above the top of corrugated aluminum alloy culvert pipe shall be made with a granular soil with the gradation as specified in Subsection 207.03. Below this level, the backfill shall be placed symmetrically on each side of the pipe in layers not more than 6 inches thick, and each layer shall be compacted with flat-faced mechanical tampers. All backfill more than 2 feet above the top of pipes and culverts, except underdrains, shall be made with excavated material and compacted in 6 inches layers as follows:

  • Dispatching CONTRACTOR shall provide qualified and trained personnel to: • Schedule and assign drivers and vehicles in accordance with the service hour schedules and scheduled trips for each day; • Assist drivers while they are in service to carry out the assigned trips on-time, providing address assistance and telephoning passengers as needed; • Monitor the performance of scheduled trips, reassigning trips and/or adjusting the number of vehicles in service as needed to ensure on-time performance in the most efficient manner; and, • Ensure that unanticipated service demands, passenger and vehicle accidents, other events and general service delivery are handled and performed in accordance with OoA policies and procedures. Dispatching staff are to be on-duty from the time the first SNEMT vehicle is in service until the last SNEMT vehicle is out of service. Dispatch staff will also ensure that: • All voice radio communications that pertain to SNEMT comply with FCC rules and regulations, and that regulations are enforced; • Average hold times on ride check calls are maintained at no more than two (2) minutes; and The OoA “no stranded passengers” policy is enforced.

  • Storage The ordering agency is responsible for storage if the contractor delivers within the time required and the agency cannot accept delivery.

  • Illumination The Engineer shall refer to TxDOT’s Highway Illumination Manual and other deemed necessary State approved manuals for design of continuous lighting and safety lighting for all conventional, high-mast, and underpass lighting. The Engineer shall include safety lighting as part of each design on each flashing beacon and traffic signal. The Engineer shall provide a preliminary layout for initial review and approval by the State. The Engineer shall prepare circuit wiring diagrams showing the number of luminaries on each circuit, electrical conductors, length of runs, service pole assemblies. Underpass lighting must be used on all structures within each project. The Engineer shall integrate existing illumination within the project limits into the proposed design. The Engineer shall coordinate with the State to determine the location of proposed high- mast, conventional, and underpass lighting.

  • Ventilation Where noxious or poisonous gases may accumulate, the City shall provide proper protection and ventilation. Proper lighting and ventilation shall be provided for all enclosed working spaces. All work in enclosed and confined spaces shall be performed in accordance with applicable Federal, State and local regulations. Spray painting shall be done only by qualified painters.
