POLICE MEMORIAL DAY. Section 44.1. All bargaining unit members who have completed their initial probationary period shall receive eight (8) hours paid absence time for National Police Memorial Day celebrated on May 15th. Paid absence time for Police Memorial Day shall not be counted in the computation of overtime or holiday premium time. Section 44.2. Bargaining unit members must request the Sheriff's approval for the use of this leave twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the intended usage. Section 44.3. This type of leave will only be granted to bargaining unit members on a first request-first granted basis.
