Common use of Political Activities Leave Clause in Contracts

Political Activities Leave. A teacher, upon request, shall be granted a leave without pay of not more than a semester, unless otherwise agreed to by the Superintendent, for the purpose of campaigning or for serving in a public office. No request for leave will be necessary when such activity does not interfere with a teaching contract. The teacher shall make request for political activities leave prior to an announcement to campaign or to serve in a public office in which the teacher would be required to be absent from an assigned position.
