Common use of Pre-Grievance Discussion Clause in Contracts

Pre-Grievance Discussion. An employee who feels that he/she has a grievance may, as soon as reasonably possible, discuss it with his/her immediate supervisor and union xxxxxxx. The employee's immediate manager shall answer the grievance as soon as possible, but no later than at the end of the next scheduled work shift of the aggrieved employee. Settlements made in this step of the grievance procedure shall have no precedent value.
