Common use of Probation Upon Promotion Clause in Contracts

Probation Upon Promotion. All promotions shall be subject to a six (6) months' probationary period during which time the promoted candidate shall prove to the satisfaction of the Fire Chief that he can satisfactorily perform the duties of the rank to which he has been promoted. Should a candidate's performance prove unsatisfactory, he shall revert to his former rank and rate of pay immediately prior to his promotion.
