Overtime Opportunities. A. The Administration shall rotate overtime opportunities among qualified full-time employees who normally perform the work that is being assigned. The Administration shall post and maintain an overtime roster. This roster shall include a list of employees eligible for such overtime and an updated total of hours worked and hours refused by each employee. Employees who show up for scheduled overtime shall receive one and one-half (1-1/2) times their regular rate of pay for actual hours worked but no less than four (4) hours for each show up. Errors in the distribution of overtime opportunities shall be corrected at the next opportunity for overtime. Patrol Officers shall have first right of refusal in filling overtime opportunities in communications which are not filled by the appropriate civilian personnel. If within fifteen (15) minutes the employee has not responded to a call from the Employer for overtime, the Employer may move on to the next person on the list but the employee will not be charged with the overtime.

Overtime Opportunities. The parties agree that overtime shall be posted and bid as follows:
Overtime Opportunities. It is understood and agreed that determining the need for overtime, scheduling overtime, and requiring overtime are solely the rights of the Employer. The Employer will not change a members’ schedule or scheduled shift starting time solely to avoid the payment of overtime without the members’ consent. Mandatory overtime, assigned by the Employer, shall be assigned as equitably as practical. In the event of multiple overtime assignments reverse seniority shall be used. Good faith attempts will be made to equalize overtime opportunities at any one installation.
Overtime Opportunities. This article describes how overtime opportunities are distributed. Articles 25.01, 25.02, 25.03 and 25.09 are applicable to all departments. Articles 25.04, 25.05, 25.06 and 25.07 apply only to production departments. Article 25.08 is applicable only to the Maintenance departments.
a) The intent of this article is to provide an equitable method of distributing overtime opportunities. The references to forty-eight (48) hour discrepancies are not to be construed as allowances where the laid out procedures can be ignored within these parameters.
b) Subject to the provisions that follow, the Company will distribute overtime opportunities to employees with the lowest recorded overtime totals on the applicable overtime equitability list.
c) The overtime equitability lists shall be the following comparator groups:
i) For 12 hour, 4 shift schedules, the comparator groups shall be A/B crew block and C/D crew block within a line of progression or offline classification.
ii) For 12 hour, 3 shift schedules, the comparator groups shall be A/B/C crew block within a line of progression or offline classification.
iii) For 8 hour shift schedules, the comparator groups shall be all crew blocks within a line of progression or offline classification. Eight (8) hour overtime opportunities will first be offered to those employees on an eight (8) hour shift schedule. Twelve (12) hour overtime opportunities will first be offered to those employees on a twelve (12) hour shift schedule.
d) Overtime will be voluntary and can be declined without recrimination. Where an employee accepts the opportunity to work hours other than those for which he is regularly scheduled, he will be deemed to have been so scheduled.
e) Except in cases beyond the Company’s control which cannot be reasonably foreseen, when overtime has been requested and commitments received, and circumstances necessitate a change in schedule, employees must be notified of any change at least 12 hours prior to the scheduled start of the overtime shift or at least four (4) hours prior to the end of a shift where an employee has agreed to work beyond the end of that shift.
f) If employees are not notified accordingly the overtime commitment will be honoured and paid a minimum of four (4) hours at the applicable overtime rate.
g) No employee will work more than the number of hours permissible in a work day or work week, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act - Province of Ontario as of the signing of this Collective ...
Overtime Opportunities. In the event of a vacancy requiring an employee to work overtime, that vacancy shall be first offered to the employees within that classification. Thereafter, if not filled, the vacancy shall be assigned as set forth below or as operational needs require. If the employee(s) accepting overtime work are, at the Employer’s sole discretion, unable to either efficiently or adequately perform the work, the Employer may assign the overtime work to those individuals determined necessary to adequately and efficiently perform the work.

1. Overtime opportunities will be defined as:
a. “Scheduled overtime”
i. Occurs when the Communication Center Director has sufficient prior knowledge of the need for overtime to allow for timely scheduling.
b. “Unscheduled overtime”
i. Occurs when the Communication Center Director has no prior knowledge of the need for overtime or when the need for overtime is unexpected, unplanned and requires immediate action to ensure appropriate staffing.
Overtime Opportunities. (i) Overtime opportunities, including call-ins will be allocated as equitably and practicable amongst the qualified employees in the bargaining unit, except where a work period in excess of 16 hours or a double-time situation results.
(ii) Overtime opportunities shall be allocated on the basis of seniority and job continuity. Job continuity is a continuation of the shift for a maximum of4hrs. If the supervisor knows in advance that the number of workers on the job is greater than the number of workers necessary to perform the work, or the job will be for more than 4 hours, he will go to the overtime list. The Company shall provide an up-to-date seniority list documenting the dates and times an employee is requested to work overtime indicating his acceptance or rejection of the overtime opportunity. On July 1st of each year covered by this agreement, the most senior qualified employee will be solicited to work the first overtime opportunity and thereafter each succeeding employee on the seniority list will be asked in turn, until the seniority list is exhausted. If the Company is unable to fill the position in this manner, then the least senior qualified employee will be scheduled. If, when the Company calls an appropriate employee on the seniority list and employee does not accept overtime or call-in, the employee's name shall be dropped to the bottom of the rotation list. If the employee fails to answer the telephone, the Company shall call the next employee on the rotation list.
(iii) Work periods in excess of 16 hours or a double-time situation shall be allocated on the basis of seniority amongst the qualified employees in the bargaining unit.

(b) In the event that an employee works on overtime or in a call-in situation, such that he is unable to have an eight-hour interval before the start of his next scheduled shift, he will be permitted to miss his next shift, and make up the time missed at straight time pay, at a later date, to be agreed upon with his Staff Supervisor. If the employee intends to make up the shift, he must advise his Staff Supervisor at the time the shift is missed. The missed time will be counted as having been worked for the purpose of calculating overtime in that week. The hours will be recorded for payment when actually worked.

Overtime Opportunities. When supervisor overtime is offered/available, the supervisor from the same shift shall be offered the overtime first (with 72 hours’ notice unless an emergency). If the supervisor does not accept the overtime, then the overtime shall be posted for other supervisors to volunteer, and it is assigned on a first come-first serve basis. If no supervisors sign up for the posted overtime, then it shall be posted and filled in accordance with the contract language below.
