Common use of Probationary Employees Seniority Clause in Contracts

Probationary Employees Seniority. Newly hired Employees shall serve a probationary period of six (6) months of continuous employment in a permanent position with the Board. The probationary period may be extended, at the discretion of the Board, for lay-offs or sickness exceeding ten (10) working days. After completion of the probationary period, seniority shall be effective from the original date of hire and the appointment shall be permanent.
