Common use of Procedures for Suspension Clause in Contracts

Procedures for Suspension. a) Ordinarily the student shall be given oral or written notice of the charges against him/her, and a fair opportunity to present his/her side of the story. However, in exceptional cases, the chief administrator /designee may suspend a student without affording the student an opportunity for a conference if an emergency situation exists. An emergency situation is defined as a situation determined by the chief administrator or designee to constitute a clear and present danger to the lives, safety or health of students or school personnel. In the event of such an emergency suspension, requirements as to the notice, meeting, and the necessity of keeping a complete written record must be followed as soon as is practical after the emergency condition dissipates.
