TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENT. 11.1 Subject to the approval of the Board, the Superintendent or his/her designee shall assign unit members of the District to the positions in which they are to serve. Such authority to assign includes the authority to transfer a unit member from one school to another school at which the unit member is certificated to serve.

11.1.1 Not less than 30 days prior to the end of the school year, each unit member shall be given written notice of the next year’s tentative assignment.
11.1.2 Unit members returning from leave shall be afforded all rights provided under this section.
TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENT. 15:1 Employees desiring a change in their employment shall make their request in writing to the Superintendent or his/her designee.
15:2 The best interest of the school system as determined by the Superintendent and the wishes of the individual employee shall be considered in the determination of request for reassignment and/or transfer. However, the Board of Education reserves its right to assign and/or reassign all employees and such assignment and reassignment shall be final.
15:3 If an employee is to be reassigned for a period of two weeks or more, he/she will be notified promptly in writing two weeks prior to the effective date of such re- assignment, and if dissatisfied, he/she may appeal in writing said reassignment through the appropriate channel to the Board of Education.
TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENT. 18.01 The arrangement for any mutual transfers between two or more teachers must be completed by April 30th or after June 15th subject to the approval of the Board and OECTA.
18.02 Transfers from the Secondary unit cannot cause a redundancy in the elementary unit or prevent the recall of an elementary Teacher from the recall list.
TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENT. A. A copy of the clerical employee vacancy listing, noting of official openings, shall be posted in the main office of each school building on the office bulletin board. Permanent part-time or full-time vacancies will be posted ten (10) days prior to being filled.
B. Notice of involuntary transfer or reassignment shall be sent in writing to the clerical employee as soon as practicable. The reason for the change in assignment or school location will be discussed in a meeting between the clerical employee involved and the direct supervisor or the Superintendent where applicable.

Permanent part- time or full-time vacancies will be posted ten (10) days prior to being filled. If the permanent vacancy occurs between August 1 and the close of the school year, the transfer or reassignment would be effective September of the following school year.
B. A teacher who desires a change in grade and/or subject assignment or who desires to transfer to another building, may file a written statement of such desire with the Superintendent not later than February 28. Such statement shall include the grade and/or subject to which the teacher desires to be assigned and the school or schools to which he desires to be transferred in order of preference. Written requests for transfer or reassignment will be acknowledged in writing by the Superintendent or his designee.
C. Notice of involuntary transfer or reassignment shall be sent in writing to the teacher as soon as practicable. The reason for the change in assignment or school location will be discussed in a meeting between the teacher involved and the building principal or the Superintendent where applicable.
D. When an involuntary transfer or reassignment is necessary, a teacher’s area of competence and major or minor field of study shall be considered in determining which teacher is to be transferred or reassigned. (The provisions of this section are nonarbitrable.)
E. Teachers will be notified in writing of their assignments for the following year by June 15th.

E. Involuntary Transfer/Reassignment/Relocation - A transfer / reassignment/ relocation of a bargaining unit member which is initiated by the District.
X. Xxxxxxx/Opening - A bargaining unit position that the District intends to fill that was caused by a resignation, leave of more than a year, retirement, transfer, reassignment or is a newly created position. A vacancy occurring within one week of the academic year and during that year, shall be deemed to be open at the beginning of the next school year. An open position shall not be deemed a vacancy if it is to be filled by a bargaining unit member returning from leave, a bargaining unit member being rehired after layoff, a bargaining unit member being involuntarily reassigned, a bargaining unit member being involuntarily transferred, or a bargaining unit member returning from a shared contract.
G. District and Charter Seniority for this article only is defined as the bargaining unit member’s initial date of service as a probationary employee. Bargaining unit members with the same initial date of service shall have their seniority determined by lottery at the time of hire. The lottery shall be conducted in the presence of a representative selected by OEA president. Once the lottery is used to determine a bargaining unit member’s seniority, that seniority shall remain in effect while in service of the District. If a bargaining unit member is assigned by the District to a non-bargaining unit administrative position and does not remain in the bargaining unit, that bargaining unit member does not accrue seniority for the purposes of the Article while working on such an assignment.
H. Site Seniority – Site Seniority, for this article only, shall be the amount of continuous service in a particular school in a probationary or permanent position. Certificated employees shall have site seniority in t...
TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENT. Involuntary transfers will be made only when conditions require it. The administrative assistant to be transferred shall be given every consideration possible as to available positions in the system. Seniority within the system shall be given consideration.
