Process for Discipline. The College shall give an employee a written statement of the reason(s) for any suspension without pay, reduction in pay or termination. Prior to a decision of suspension without pay or termination, the College shall inform concurrently the employee and the Association, in writing, of the charges against the employee, any evidence and documentation to support the charge and the action contemplated. The College will provide an opportunity to the employee to respond in writing or in person to the evidence and explain and defend their conduct. The College shall handle discipline of an employee as confidentially and discretely as the situation warrants and is possible under the circumstances. 1. The College will provide fifteen (15) calendar days’ written notice prior to the effective date of any suspension or reduction in pay. ARTCILE 2 (continued) 2. The College will provide seven (7) calendar days’ written notice prior to the effective date of termination. The College may terminate an employee immediately without seven (7) calendar days’ notice if, in the College’s determination, the continued employment of the employee during the notice period would jeopardize the good of the College. The College will provide the reasons for an immediate termination in the written notice.
