Common use of Professional and Education Leaves Clause in Contracts

Professional and Education Leaves. (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to Nurses to attend professional and educational meetings, courses or other events which, in the judgment of the Employer, will be beneficial to the Nurses’ professional development. (b) Notwithstanding any other clause contained herein, when a Nurse is required in writing by the Employer to attend meetings, in-service, and other work-related functions outside of her regularly scheduled working hours, she shall be paid for all such time in attendance (not including travel time) at her regular straight time hourly rate of pay to a maximum of 7.5 hours; or at the Nurse’s option, shall receive equivalent time off.
