Common use of Professional and Education Leaves Clause in Contracts

Professional and Education Leaves. (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial by the Employer to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer. (b) Where an employee is required by the Employer to attend a course or workshop, the Employer agrees to pay any applicable fee and the Employer agrees to compensate such employees for the time off from work as the result of attending the course. (c) Professional leave with pay will be granted to full-time and part-time employees who are elected to the College of Nurses to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses to a maximum of six (6) days per year. Only one (1) representative may be absent at a time.
