PROFESSIONAL DUES OR FEES AND PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS. 7.1 Any faculty member who is a member of the Association, or who has applied for membership may sign and deliver to the college administration an assignment authorizing deduction of unified SJDCTA/CTA/NEA dues or assessments required by the Association. Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year unless revoked in writing between June 1 and September 1 of any year. Pursuant to such authorization, the District shall deduct one-tenth of such dues from the regular salary check of the faculty member each month for ten months. Deductions for faculty members who sign such authorization after the commencement of the academic year shall be appropriately prorated to complete payments by the end of the period for which the faculty member was contractually employed during the current academic year. 7.2 With respect to all sums for membership dues deducted by the District pursuant to authorization of the employee, the District agrees promptly to remit such monies to the Association's designee, accompanied by an alphabetical list of faculty members for whom such deductions have been made, and indicating any changes in personnel from the list previously furnished. 7.3 The Association agrees to furnish any information needed by the District to fulfill the provisions of this Article. 7.4 Upon appropriate written authorization from the faculty member, the District shall deduct from the salary of any faculty member and make appropriate remittance for plans or programs as approved by the Association.

The District will process and honor the terms of dues deduction agreements for all bargaining unit members who is a member of the Association, or who has applied for membership may sign and deliver to the college administration an assignment authorizing deduction of unified SJDCTA/CTA/NEA dues or assessments required by the Association. Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year unless revoked in writing between June 1 and September 1 of any yearunion reports as having written authorizations. Pursuant to such authorization, the District shall deduct one-tenth of such dues from the regular salary check of the faculty bargaining unit member each month for ten months, September through June. Deductions for faculty bargaining unit members who sign such authorization after the commencement of the academic school year shall be appropriately prorated pro-rated to complete full payments by the end of the period for which the faculty member was contractually employed during the current academic school year. 7.2 B. Bargaining unit member requests for revocation of dues deduction authorizations must be directed to the union. The District will rely on RDTA’s written decision as to whether a revocation request is effective, and the effective date of that revocation. C. RDTA will indemnify the District against any claims made by an employee regarding payroll deductions made based on information provided by RDTA to the District D. Upon receiving appropriate written authorization from the faculty member, the District shall deduct appropriate amounts from the salary of any the faculty member and make appropriate remittance for to annuities, credit union accounts, savings bonds, or any other plans or programs as approved by the AssociationAssociation and the District.

The Association shall provide the information necessary to the District in writing to cease deductions for any unit member who discontinues his/her membership, which is the information the District shall rely upon to cease deductions. 5.3 With respect to all sums for membership dues deducted by the District pursuant to authorization of the employeeparagraph 5.1 above, the District agrees to promptly to remit such monies to the Association's designee, Association accompanied by an alphabetical list of faculty members employees for whom such deductions have been made, and indicating any changes in personnel from the list previously furnished. 7.3 5.4 The Association agrees to furnish any reasonable and necessary information needed by the District to fulfill the provisions of this Article. If there is a dispute by a member regarding dues being processed, the Association and the District shall meet to determine how the issues shall be resolved based on Education Code 45060. This provision does not preclude the district or the union from taking any other action it deems appropriate. 7.4 5.5 Upon appropriate written authorization from the faculty membercertificated employee, the District shall deduct from the salary of any faculty member certificated employee, and make appropriate remittance for annuities, credit union, savings bonds, charitable donations, or any other plans or programs as jointly approved by the AssociationAssociation and the District.
