Professional Improvement Plans. 1. A professional improvement plan is a clearly articulated program used for a counselor who has a final summative rating of “Ineffective” on their most recent final summative evaluation. An evaluator may initiate an improvement plan at any time during the evaluation cycle based on deficiencies in performance by the school counselor. 2. The professional improvement plan shall include: a. Specific measurable performance expectations, resources and assistance to be provided; and, b. A reasonable, desired level of performance that is expected and a reasonable time period to correct deficiencies; and, c. Professional Development opportunities. 3. Improvement plans for the next school year shall be developed not later than June 1 of each school year.
